
Nestle USA Baking Division has voluntarily recalled Nestle Toll House refrigerated cookie due to possible E. coli illnesses. The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) are investigating reported E. coli 0157:H7 illnesses that may have been caused from eating raw cookie dough.
Numerous consumers have reported becoming ill after consuming raw Nestle Toll House refrigerated cookie dough. Nestle is cooperating with the FDA and CDC in the investigation. According to the press release, no other Nestle Toll House products are involved, which includes Nestle Toll House morsels, chocolate baking bars, cocoa or already baked Toll House cookies purchased outside of the home.
Nestle has urged consumers to not eat raw cookie dough. The same message also appears prominently on their packaging. As long as the cookie dough is baked, it is safe to eat.
Consumers are advised to return their Nestle cookie dough products to the store where purchased for a full refund. The company can also be contacted at 1-800-559-5025.
All variety of Nestle Toll House refrigerated Cookie Bar Dough, Cookie Dough Tub, Cookie Dough Tube, Limited Edition Cookie Dough items, Seasonal Cookie Dough and Ultimates Cookie Bar Dough are affected by the recall.
