
A Brooklyn car accident involving at least two vehicles leaves two people seriously injured and hospitalized. The accident took place just before 12:00 AM on Monday night, November 23, 2009 at the intersection of Lee Avenue and Rutledge Street in Williamsburg. According to witnesses, the accident may have been the end result of a police chase.
“I heard sirens and saw a [civilian] car go really fast down the street and hit another vehicle,” reported a witness who wished to remain unidentified. The same witness also indicated that they believed that the car being chased was going at least 45 mile per hour.
According to paramedics, two people were inured in the two-vehicle crash that took place at the intersection of Lee Avenue and Rutledge Street. Rescue workers transported both victims to Bellevue Hospital where they were treated for injuries sustained in the accident. An unidentified EMT from the volunteer Hatzolah group described the injuries as being “very serious.” Investigators have not released the identities of the two victims.
The Brooklyn accident is still under investigation by local authorities. The cause of the accident is unknown at this time. The witness who reported that the accident was a result of a police chase has not been verified.
