
A Brooklyn car accident involving a vehicle that lost control claims the lives of two women after they were ejected from the car. The incident took place at approximately 3:30AM on Sunday morning, January 10, 2010 on the Belt Parkway in Brooklyn.
According to police, a 1996 Infiniti heading eastbound driven by Oleg Pantchenko, 29, of Gravesend, Brooklyn, lost control on the Belt Parkway. The car reportedly struck a guardrail, swerved across several lanes of traffic, and plowed into several other cars.
Two unidentified female passengers riding in the Infinity were ejected from the vehicle. Rescue crews pronounced the 24 and 33 year old women dead at the scene of the accident. Officials did not release the names of the two victims.
Rescue crews transported a third female passenger who was in the Infiniti to Lutheran Medical Center. She has been listed in stable condition, according to police.
There were no other injuries reported in the multi-vehicle accident.
According to police, a breath test showed that Pantchenko’s blood alcohol level was at 0.054 percent. He has been charged with vehicular manslaughter, driving while impaired by alcohol, criminally negligent homicide and first-degree manslaughter.
The fatal Brooklyn car accident is still under investigation by local authorities.
