What if Your Baby’s Stroller Isn’t Safe?

We generally all make the assumption that the stroller we push our baby in is safe. What if it’s not? What if your baby is in danger every time you put them in his or her stroller?  Every year, hundreds of baby products, including strollers, are recalled due to defective and unsafe parts.

In recent news, we discovered that strollers manufactured by Maclaren, were involved in a massive recall. A November 9, 2009 press release by the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission indicated that Maclaren recalled approximately 1 million strollers.  The press release also indicated that there were 12 reports of children suffering severed fingertips due to a defect in the stroller’s hinge mechanism.

If you or someone you know owns a Volo, Triumph, Quest Sport, Quest Mod, Techno XT, Techno XLR, Twin Triumph, Twin Techno and Easy Traveler Maclaren model stroller, you should be concerned that the stroller has been recalled and can cause serious injury to any child riding in it.

Maclaren strollers are not the only strollers to have been recalled this year. As a matter of fact, in June 2009, about 22,500 Bugaboo Bee strollers were recalled after the manufacturer received 121 reports of issues with the braking system. Though, no injuries were reported, we all know how dangerous it can be having a child in a stroller with defective brakes.

If you or your child has been injured by a defective product, such as a stroller, you should contact a New York injury attorney at the Law Firm of Rappaport, Glass, Greene and Levine at (800) 734-9445.
