Things aren’t looking good for Toyota Motor Corp., as the company announced yet another recall of one of its vehicles. This recall follows a safety warning made by
Consumer Reports.
The Lexus GX 460 has been recalled after
Consumer Reports announced last week that the vehicle has an unusually high risk of rollovers during turns. According to the magazine, “when pushed to its limits on a handling course on CR’s test track, the rear of the GX CR purchased slid out until the vehicle was almost sideways before the electronic stability control system was able to regain control.”
Toyota responded to this warning by halting the sales of this SUV. It issued a statement saying, “our engineering teams are vigorously testing the GX using
Consumer Reports’ specific parameters to identify how we can make the GX’s performance even better.”
After Toyota engineers finished their tests on all Toyota and Lexus-brand SUVs, they found that the flaw existed in the GX 460 and Land Cruiser Prado models. These two vehicle models have the same stability control system.
Toyota ended up recalling 9,400 Lexus GX 460 SUVs in the United States and 21,000 Land Cruiser Prado SUVs in left-hand drive countries.
There has been a lot of speculation as to whether Toyota vehicles are to blame for some of the
New York car accidents over the years. These recalls have also caused a lot of people to question their safety when behind the wheel of a Toyota or Lexus-brand vehicle.
If you have a Lexus GX 460 and have questions, you should contact a local dealership. You can also visit this website,
